The digital revolution has brought on one of the biggest shifts in media since the creation of the printing press. And the internet has spawned new industries, businesses and networks. With the advent of Social Media, business is now also personal.

The digital landscape has profoundly changed since the launch of Poets and Plumbers in 2007. Over the past few months, we’ve been busy behind the scenes restructuring and planning the next stage of Poets and Plumbers. We are also developing and updating events, courses and online resources to assist in this ever-changing media industry.

From Revolution to Evolution

Social networks and digital media have been through massive and profound developments in recent times and, looking back over the past 3 years, the speed of developments has been amazing. Now we all need to get smarter at deploying the evolving tools, networks and mediums that the revolution is bringing upon us. For those of us in sales, marketing and communications it’s all about how we use these digital tools, media, traditional and social networks to communicate with, educate and inspire our audiences.

From Agency-driven to Community-driven

Where once the digital agencies were the source of online marketing know-how and called all the shots, today it is advertisers themselves who have control. Poets and Plumbers will reflect that change, moving from the original agency-to-advertiser “training” model to becoming a full peer-to-peer, thought leadership-oriented community where companies themselves are in the driving seat. The company behind it all, Poets and Plumbers A/S, is an organization whose goals are not profit-oriented. Rather, it’s here to support industry professionals, and its core value focuses on professional community development through peer-to-peer activities (both online and offline) and inspiring industry events, workshops and courses.

Digital Age Thought Leadership

Constant change is part of this sales and marketing evolution. And thought leadership will be our best strength to help us all explore new worlds of the new media landscape. For Poets and Plumbers, thought leadership has always been in the brand’s DNA, and moving forward, thought leadership is what this brand will facilitate, nurture and promote. The community will soon be welcoming even more new Thought Leaders from among the ranks of marketing professionals. If you think you would like to be a Thought Leader, and get more active in the community, give us a call!

From Danish to English

You may have noticed the change in our language! Why? The Internet brings global communities of professionals together. With English as the international business language, it opens up the Poets and Plumbers community to a world of collaboration. Of course, as Denmark is Poets and Plumbers’ spiritual birthplace we’ll also be showcasing Danish online innovation and thought leadership to the rest of the world. And we’ll be facilitating international peer-to-peer collaborations and discussions, too. English also enables us to include the many non-Danish professionals now living and working in Denmark.

Meet the new Poets & Plumbers Support Team

A new team is now on board to help us get to the next stage of evolution. Headed by Jomar Reyes, Poets and Plumbers will bring on new online initiatives and a range of industry events. He is joined by Thomas Webster whose background is in international broadcast and online media. Bringing up the rear is Jonathan Winch: marketing veteran, original co-founder of Poets and Plumbers, and someone who really gets the point of creating a vibrant, thought-leading community.

The team is here to help marketers and communicators get the most value out of each other – so don’t hesitate to contact any of us if you have ideas, opinions or anything else to share.
